BALSAM FIR (Abies balsamea)

balsafir oilBalsam fir essential oil is renowned for its benefits to the respiratory
system, as well as its ability to soothe over-worked muscles and joints. The oil was recently harvested on Young Living's own Balsam Fir Farm and contains optimal levels of four important constituents: alpha pineane, beta pineane, camphene, and limonene, which give many of its soothing characteristics. Balsam fir lends its qualities to a variety of Young Living products including Young Living's specially formulated Deep Relief Essential Oil Roll-On.

Gary Young and his team recently harvested and distilled the Idaho Balsam
Fir. It was January snowing heavily and only 9 degrees. You probably
wonder why would they harvest the oil in those harsh weather conditions.

Gary has cut and distilled and tested the fir during each month of the year,
and found that it's medicinal properties and chemical constituents were
most potent during the most frigid time of winter. He said that the trees are
saturated with the oils then, as the oils protect the needles from freezing.

through the ages for its medicinal effects and ability to heal respiratory conditions and muscular or rheumatic pain.

Idaho Balsam Fir is a conifer oil distilled in northern Idaho that has a refreshing and
uplifting scent. Those who have assisted in harvesting have reported unusually high energy, stamina and good mood, with the smell of balsam becoming intoxicating during the long cold days. Used in massage, it has a soothing effect on muscle and body discomfort associated with exercise. Idaho Balsam Fir has an approximate ORAC (antioxidant rating) of 205,047 (TE/L). Balsam fir is grounding, stimulating to the mind and relaxing to the body. The simple inhalation of Balsam Fir is shown to reduce cortisol levels by 40%.

Therapeutic grade essential oils of Idaho Balsam Fir from Young Living are suitable and appropriate for the above applications. Many Young Living oils are approved by the FDA as "GRAS" and for use as a dietary supplement.

Essential oils from bath shops and natural foods stores are often perfume grade, thus may not yield therapeutic results and should never be taken internally. Perfume
grade oils have been rendered toxic by the distillation method, fillers, chemical
extractants, etc. and may cause adverse reactions.

TESTIMONIES FOR IDAHO BALSAM FIR

BONE SPURS

I had a bone spur the size of the end of my thumb on the bottom of my heel
which hurt like the dickens. At night I could hardly wait to get off my foot
because it hurt so badly but when I did, it hurt worse. During the night
when I had to get up to go to the bathroom it took all I could muster up, to
hobble to the bathroom because I couldn't put any weight at all on the foot.

balsam fir effectsI had tried R.C. because I had heard that it had dissolved other peoples bone spurs. But it didn't help mine. I was to the point where I was maybe
considering about going to the doctor to see about getting surgery on the heel because I was tired of the pain all the time. Then one day there was a medical doctor on T.V. and he was talking about doing laser surgery on bone spurs.

So I was really interested in seeing what he had to say about it. The first thing he said was before they did surgery, they would give the patient cortisone shots and then see what happened. Da-a-a-a, What was the matter with me. Why hadn't I thought of that before? We have a natural cortisone like action with our tree oils so I applied Idaho Balsam Fir and R.C. together on my heel. The first night the pain was less and in three days the spur was gone and that has been over eight years and I have not had any problems since.

My husband was having the similar problem with his foot on the ball of the
foot last spring and I applied Idaho Balsam Fir and R.C. to his foot and in
a week his pain was gone and has not came back.

What a relief not to have to resort to surgery and go through more pain and
compromise the immune system when we have these wonderful oils to help us.
