Essential Oils for Pregnancy and Birth

A Testimonial for Essential Oils

essential oils and pregnancyI was pregnant from August 2008 and gave birth to a healthy baby girl May 2009. Prior to being pregnant I was an avid profuse oil user, both topically and taking capsules internally. What I found that helped during pregnancy the most was:

1. Ningxia Red - 2 - 4 ounces a day

2. Power Meal - I lost my appetite while pregnant and this was easy to get down and highly nutritious

3. Multigreens - I took 2 capsules a day, although in Mary Young's protocol for type O blood I think she was taking 8 capsules a day.

4. I used all of YL's personal care products - soap, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant

5. Lavender Lavender Lavender! I used Lavender oil topically over abdomen first to shrink uterine fibroids, then to calm early contractions and third to help reduce possibility of stretch marks

6. At month six I also used Tender Tush on abdomen to reduce stretch marks (I have no stretch marks)

7. I used Thieves oil on bottom of feet, over pancreas and tummy area daily. My Chinese practitioner said my tummy was `cold' and picked Thieves oil as a warming oil blend.

8. I used Citrus Fresh in water daily after gallbladder issues started around week 24

9. I do remember hearing Gary say that Mary used all oils during her pregnancy, did not avoid any including Clary Sage.

10. During labor, I used Clary Sage on ankles and 4-6 drops in a capsule when I was 5 cm which I believe helped move labor along so that I went from 5 cm to 10 and complete in 35 minutes.

Recommended Tool

HYPNOBABIES! This is an awesome program that is easy to use and provides multiple tools to use for a comfortable easy childbirth experience. I did the at-home study program starting around week #30. If you visit www.hypnobabies.com, somewhere on their site there used to be a sample track called Relax. I highly recommend this program and wouldn't think of giving birth without these tools. How many people do you talk to that said their labor was easy? Comfortable? Manageable? Between Clary Sage oil and hypnobabies program and my doula, it all went so well I would most excitedly want to experience that again - it was powerful and the most amazing night of my life.                 Cheryl

Another Essential Oil Testimonial

I used pretty much all the oils during pregnancy sickness.  The things I did regularly were these:

ningxia red bottloe2 ounces NingXia Red every day
Core Essentials
Masters Hers (yes, in addition to the Core Essentials)
Lemon, Citrus Fresh and/or Grapefruit in my water once a day, or more drop of valor on my back morning and night
Harmony above the naval morning and night
Joy over my heart morning and night
Drop or 2 of Thieves in 1/2 oz water- gargle, swish and swallow after brushing my teeth
Lavender on my feet at night (It stopped the Restless Leg Syndrome)
Frankincense and Myrrh rubbed on the belly nightly
Lavender body lotion or Sandlewood Face cream rubbed on the belly daily

As Needed I Used

Oregano on the feet
Inner Defense
Peace and Calming
Di-Gize and/or Peppermint for heartburn or indigestion (Peppermint in capsules was the best for heartburn during the last few weeks.)
More lemon in water for heartburn
Ortho Ease for pulling ligaments and contractions
Idaho Balsam Fir

I know I used pretty much all the oils I have at some point, for some reason, even if it was just because I was in the mood for it. To keep healthy, I'd recommend the NR, Core Essentials, a liberal usage of Thieves, and Inner Defense once a week.

I didn't use much for labor and delivery- mainly Valor and Stress Away. My youngest of 5 is nearly 4 months old now, and when she was born, she made a quick decent (after 10 hours of labor) and came out very healthy and pink. The doctor and nurses were all impressed with how pink she was.             Rebecca

The Ningxia Red is awesome pregnancy nutrition, so are the daily nutritional packs with Omega Blues, and the color coded vitamins and minerals and probiotics. One of my client's has a little one who also LOVES NR - if he sees one of the packets, it is HIS, and you have to help him milk every last drop out of it - even before he was one year old.            Ysha
