SAUCE RECIPES WITH ESSENTIAL OILS

The flavor of a sauce is a key for a memorable meal. Please remember to use only food grade essentail oils for internal use in our aromatherapy recipes. All of Young Living's oils are food grade and are safe to use in all types of cooking. Try some of the following recipes for your friends and family!

Agave Cranberry Sauce

3/4 c. purified water
1/2 c. Young Living Blue Agave
12 oz. fresh cranberries
2 drops Young Living orange oil

Mix water and agave until dissolved. Bring to a boil, add berries, and return to a boil. Reduce heat and gently boil for 10-15 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool. Add orange oil and refrigerate for at least one hour. Makes 1 2/3 cups.

Citrus Fruit Sauce

1 ½ c. Frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
¼ c. water
¼ c. frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
½ tsp. lemon juice or 1 drop lemon oil
2 Tbs. cornstarch

Whisk cornstarch into orange juice concentrate, apple juice concentrate, and water. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add lemon juice or oil. Serve hot over pancakes or waffles, or chilled as a sauce for fresh fruit. Store in refrigerator. Makes 2 ½ cups.

Creamy Nut Sauce

1 c. macadamia nuts, raw and unsalted
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 ½ c. lemon juice
1 c. water
1 ½ - 2 c. cashews, raw and unsalted
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 drop black pepper oil
¼ c. shoyu or lite soy sauce

Blend all ingredients together, adding water until creamy. Pour over the top of vegetables and serve.

Marinara Sauce

30 oz. tomato sauce 1 drop of basil oil
1 large onion, chopped (1 c.)   1 drop of rosemary oil
4-5 garlic cloves, minced 2 teaspoon parsley, snipped
1 drop of oregano oil 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, crushed
1 tablespoon. blue agave 1 tablespoon olive oil

Sauté onion in olive oil until soft, then add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer for at least 1 hour. Makes 7 cups.
